Ring Sizing

We require a specific ring size with your order before we can commence manufacture. ClanTime takes no responsibility for incorrect ordering of ring size. Please view our ring size chart below to help determine correct ring size or visit your jeweller to ensure you have your correct size.

We guarantee the size of the ring supplied is correct according to the order. On receiving your Saltire Ring, if you find the ring doesn't fit your finger you can have the ring resized. Due to the complexity of the face of the ring, we recommend any alterations be carried out by our jewellers. Should you have your ring resized by a professional jeweller, ClanTime assumes no responsibility.

In general a wider ring may need to be slightly larger, and a narrow ring may need to be slightly smaller. Bear in mind that the Saltire Gents Ring is relatively wide.

Finger Shapes

A typical or medium finger shape is one where the knuckle joint is slightly larger than the fleshy part above it where the ring is worn. In this case, the ring should be a close fit over the knuckle, but feel comfortable to wear once it is in place.

Well-built fingers owners will find that the fleshy part of their finger is larger than the knuckle joint. In this case, obviously the ring will slide over the knuckle easily, but there is a slight danger that the ring could slip off. To avoid this, it is better if the ring fits slightly more tightly on the flesh than for people with "medium" fingers. It may be worth a short period of slight discomfort with a new ring to ensure a snug fit ever after, as the flesh under the ring will usually adjust slightly to the ring.

Points to Note

  • The best size is usually the ring that fits snugly and gives a little resistance when you take it off. Wider rings should be a little looser than narrow rings.
  • Fingers are a bit larger in warm weather and smaller in cold weather, so take that into account.
  • Men take note that if you are not used to wearing a ring, the proper size will probably feel tight at first. Many men lose their wedding rings because they choose sizes that are too loose.

Using the Chart

Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper around the finger, mark the ends and measure it against a ruler. Compare this with the length on the chart. We prefer your final measurement in millimetres however we can convert from any standard sizing.
